Conroy Brook Construction has been selected as lead contractor on a brand new multi-million pound mental health and community services hub in Wakefield.
The new centre, which is being developed in partnership with the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SWYPFT) and Quest Property, will be built on the site of the former Quest nightclub in the heart of the city centre and will be named Drury Lane Health & Wellbeing Centre.
The refurbishment project will involve taking the existing nightclub building back to its shell and creating a modern, therapeutic environment for patients.
The facility, which is scheduled to open early next year, will house a number of existing services currently offered in other locations across Yorkshire:
- Adults of Working Age Community Teams, currently based in Castleford and Wakefield
- Older People’s Services Community Services
- Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services
- Learning Disabilities Community Services currently based in Wakefield.
Richard Conroy, CEO at Conroy Brook, said: “We’re really proud of the work we have delivered in the healthcare sector over the years; this is just one area of the business where we see a real opportunity for growth.
This is another very high profile contract for us, not only in terms of its prominence in the region’s mental health service provision, but also in the local area, turning a disused building into an invaluable facility for people across Yorkshire to access and benefit from.”
