The award – received for the company's White Rose Nursing Home in Holmfirth – is based on how well the needs and desires of residents have been incorporated into the design, as well as the architectural standards of the building.

Completed in July 2004 the building design of the facility took into account views from the local community and hospital, as well as healthcare professionals in the borough.

Meridian Care Operations Director, Susan Firth is delighted with the news: ‘Congratulations and thanks must go to everyone in Holmfirth involved in this development. White Rose House is what Meridian Care considers to be a ‘5-star’ facility, both in terms of the building design and quality of services provided. I am very pleased that this has been recognised at a national level.’
