Richard Conroy Reaches Finals of Business Awards
Richard Conroy
Richard (37) – who has been instrumental in taking the company from a turnover of nearly £3m in 2007 to £5.6m this year – was announced as the runner-up in the Young Business Personality category (the only developer/construction company to be nominated). He said: “I am honoured to have reached the finals of these awards, as the region has some very talented and entrepreneurial individuals.”
Richard joined his father Ivan Conroy’s business in 2005 following 10 years gaining invaluable experience in property development in London, working alongside renowned developer Sir Stuart Lipton at Stanhope plc – a company with such prestigious buildings as the Tate Modern, the National Gallery and The Royal Opera House to its name – and also at Taylor Woodrow.
Also a Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, Richard put his experience to good use at Conroy Brook, where his involvement has always been hands-on throughout the whole of the building process.
Richard’s aim, on joining the business, was to apply what he had learnt at Harvard and in London to move the business forward, and differentiate them from other developers on the quality that is integral to every home they build. Something which the company is now achieving on every level.
