About Us
Conroy Brook Developments was founded in 1996 as a new joint-venture development company between the well-known Huddersfield house builder, Ivan Conroy (who has over 30 years of house building expertise), and Martin Brook of the Barnsley based Brook Leisure Group of companies. The company has established a reputation for high quality development in some of the most desirable parts of West Yorkshire, and in 2006 celebrated 10 years of homebuilding excellence.
Also directors of the Conroy Brook Developments board are Richard Conroy and Jason Brook, and they are all supported by an experienced in-house construction team. Richard and his father Ivan also run Towngate Homes and Conroy Homes, whilst Jason and his father Martin have other interests through their Quest company.
The company focuses on developing high specification detached family homes across Yorkshire built in natural stone, and has won a number of awards, including 2 coveted Federation of Master Builders “Highly commended” rosettes. Other developments have included sheltered housing, loft apartments and a nursing home. The latter project, the White Rose Nursing Home in Holmfirth, won the Best New Development (Elderly Healthcare) in the 2005 Annual Healthcare Awards. The company is also about to embark on the final phase of its Holmfirth project – a dedicated specialist care unit for the Hollybank Trust.
Each home is architecturally designed to ensure a living environment of maximum comfort, flexibility and efficiency. The company builds its homes with care and attention, using local craftsmen, many of whom have worked with the company for many years. The strong Conroy house building reputation results in strong resale values, and the company name is often used as a selling point when purchasers put their Conroy Brook home on the market.
The company is a member of the Home Builders Federation (HBF), the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). It also runs its own apprentice training programme, to try and help address the industry skills gap.
